Markets, cheese festival and the 'Via Culinaria': witness Austria's traditions and taste its delicacies

(LifePR) - At the Farmers' Autumn Festival in Zell am See-Kaprun, Austrian traditions and culture are omnipresent. Local customs, amazing crafts, and unequalled titbits for your palate: in September guests get to know the charming unique peculiarities of the Alpine republic. But traditional costumes, dance performances and delicious treats from the local cuisine are not the only highlights in the event calendar! Every Friday the Farmers' Fair lures gourmets to Zell's town square offering delicacies from Pinzgau. During the Farmers' Autumn especially families with children may want to drop in at one of the farms to learn more about agriculture in the Alpine region.
The event series is culminating in Kaprun's Cheese Festival from 12th to 18th September. At the restaurant of the Tauern Spa, renowned chefs teach interested guests everything about the use of cheese in modern cuisine. The cheese market in turn is the place to go for those who would like to shop for dairy products which have made a name for themselves far beyond the region's borders. At the 'Autumn Pleasures' event at Kaprun Castle on 20th September, high-quality food and the unique pleasure regions in the province of Salzburg are in the limelight. And eventually on 18th September Zell's farming community is celebrating the end of the harvesting season at Aubauer farm with dance and music.
On the so-called 'Via Culinaria' guests experience Austria from its tastiest side, too. Rustic inn or cosy town restaurant: in more than 200 spots on seven routes, holidaymakers savour the very best products from the respective region - from fish and meat via beer and schnapps to sweets.
