Today, Oracle announced a world record non-clustered TPC-H Three Terabyte (TB) benchmark result for Oracle® Database 11g running on Oracle?s Sun SPARC® Enterprise M9000 server(1), demonstrating the superior scalability and integration of Oracle Database and Oracle?s Sun SPARC servers.
This result set a new record, topping the best IBM TPC-H 3 TB result (2), delivering 20 percent more performance at a better price/performance cost.
Oracle's Sun SPARC Enterprise M9000 server, part of the Sun SPARC Enterprise Server Family, is Oracle's highest performance and largest multiprocessor enterprise server.
Oracle Solaris is a leading enterprise operating system, providing best in class reliability, security and scalability.

Benchmark Details
Running on a Sun SPARC Enterprise M9000 server with quad-core SPARC64(TM) VII+ 2.8 GHz 32 processors, 128 cores, Oracle Database 11g running on Oracle Solaris achieved a world record TPC-H 3 TB non-clustered performance result of 188,229.9 QphH(at)3000GB with a price of $20.19/QphH(at)3000GB.
TPC-H is a decision support benchmark consisting of a suite of business-oriented ad-hoc queries and concurrent data modifications. The performance metric is called the TPC-H Composite Query-per-Hour Performance Metric (QphH(at)Size) and reflects multiple aspects of the capability of the system to process queries.
