BINE website open to international public

(pressrelations) - >
BINE Information Service goes international: Essential contents of the homepage are now available in English. Interested parties from all over the world can easily find out about government-sponsored research projects in the fields of energy efficiency and renewable energy. Thanks to the English-language version of the website, it is now easier to link up with international partners and there is increased international awareness of interesting projects.

"We are translating the website in response to growing international interest in our services. Especially on the Internet, the number of foreign users is rising,? says Johannes Lang, editor in charge of the BINE Information Service in Bonn. With this translation, the editorial office is extending the range of services in English. Publications have been available in English for some time. "Solar retrofitting of local heating?, "Operational diagnostics of buildings? and "Geothermal electricity generation combined with a heating network? are the titles of current energy research projects published by the BINE Information Service. So far, over 30 different topics have been published in English. "This allows us to offer our scientific partners better possibilities of communicating their research activities and expanding their international networks,? says Johannes Lang. Further publications in English have been scheduled for the start of 2010.

BINE Information Service ? putting energy research into practice

The BINE Information Service reports on energy research topics, such as new materials, systems and components, as well as innovative concepts and methods. The knowledge gained is incorporated into the implementation of new technologies in practice, because first-rate information provides a basis for pioneering decisions, whether in the planning of energy-optimised buildings, increasing the efficiency of industrial processes, or integrating renewable energy sources into existing systems. BINE is an information service of FIZ Karlsruhe, sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi).
